Coins of William IV and Price

William IV (William Henry; 21 August 1765-20 June 1837) was king of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland and Hanover from 26 June 1830 until his death. William, the third son of George III and his younger brother and successor to George IV, was the last and last king of the British Hanover House.

He served in the Royal Navy in his youth and, during and after his reign, coined the term "Sailor King". He has worked in North America and the Caribbean, but saw little real fighting. Since her two older brothers died without leaving a legacy, she took over the throne when she was 64 years old. His rule underwent several changes: the poor law was revised, child labor was banned, slavery was abolished throughout most of the British Empire, and the British electoral system was reformed under the 1832 Reform Act. Although William did not become involved in politics as a brother or father, he became the last king to appoint a new Prime Minister contrary to the will of Parliament. Through his brother, the Viceroy of Hanover, he gave the empire a temporary constitutional freedom. At the time of her death, William had no surviving legal children but left eight of the ten children he adopted through actress Dorothea Jordan, with whom he lived for 20 years. William was followed in the United Kingdom by his niece, Victoria, and in Hanover by his brother, Ernest Augustus 1.
